Sweet Sips

Appetite out of control? Want to rein it in before wolfing down something you know you shouldn’t be eating at all, much less making a meal of? This site is disgusting, the the very best sense of the word, and you need to see it.

It doesn’t gross the reader out for cheap thrills; it harnesses disgust—which at least should be your reaction—to make a salient point, and directs it towards a deserving target. It equates the sugar content of popular drinks to that in sugary foods. Energy drinks and dessert coffees are common offenders, but you’ll be surprised at some of the “winners.” A 20-ounce bottle of Snapple Agave Melon Antioxidant Water comes in at two ice cream bars. Water! And it just gets worse from there.

Speaking as someone still chipping away at what was once a 20-ounce soda a day habit, getting down somewhere around 8 ounces a day now, this can be a powerful tool, if not for eliminating the sugar monkey from your back, then at least stripping some of the deadliest weapons from its arsenal.
