{"id":19,"date":"2010-03-03T14:32:29","date_gmt":"2010-03-03T18:32:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mdlake.net\/?p=19"},"modified":"2010-07-13T14:32:40","modified_gmt":"2010-07-13T18:32:40","slug":"what-not-even-his-own","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.mdlake.net\/?p=19","title":{"rendered":"What, Not Even His Own?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!-- \t\t@page { margin: 0.79in } \t\tP { margin-bottom: 0.08in } \t\tA:link { so-language: zxx } --><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\">Online acquaintances at &lt;a href=<span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\">&#8220;http:\/\/www.well.com&#8221; target=&#8221;_blank&#8221;&gt;the Well&lt;\/a&gt;<\/span> are snickering over the tasteless nouveau riche design of Rush Limbaugh&#8217;s New York apartment, now &lt;a href=<span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\">&#8220;http:\/\/gawker.com\/5482793\/rush-limbaughs-gaudy-fifth-avenue-penthouse-is-now-for-sale\/&#8221; target=&#8221;_blank&#8221;&gt;up for auction&lt;\/a&gt;.  (Rush blames his decision to sell on Paterson&#8217;s tax initiatives, but who knows when it comes to Rush&#8217;s narrative?  Perhaps getting dropped lately from several stations has something to do with it&#8230;)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\">Smirking at anything concerning Rush says, does, or is is a popular form of entertainment on the Well, and, though the apartment is certainly not to my taste, I&#8217;m not sure it deserves the reception it&#8217;s getting.  I&#8217;ve seen worse, although the &lt;a href=&#8221;<a href=\"http:\/\/gawker.com\/5484134\/comments-of-the-day-everyone-wants-to-live-in-rush-limbaughs-house\">http:\/\/gawker.com\/5484134\/comments-of-the-day-everyone-wants-to-live-in-rush-limbaughs-house<\/a>&#8221; target=&#8221;_blank&#8221;&gt;portrait of himself&lt;\/a&gt; over the divan &lt;i&gt;<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><em>is<\/em><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\">&lt;\/i&gt;<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"> pretty dreadful.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\">The only thing that stands out for me is the single, lonely bookshelf, and that filled with \u00e2\u20ac\u0153books by the yard,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d meant to be admired as a matched set of bindings, and not meant actually to be read.  Nobody with a bookshelf like that knows anything at all about anything at all.
